A message from our Seniors Captain, Stuart Gillies
I have been playing golf since the age of 12, having being born and bred in Edinburgh, Scotland and being fortunate to have had golf lessons as part of my school curriculum. This began my lifelong love of the game of golf.
I joined Willingdon Golf Club in 1989 when I moved to Westham in East Sussex from Bromley with my wife Gill and son James and then later moved up to the Senior section in 2014.
I feel immensely honoured to have been selected as Senior Captain and am really looking forward to my year.
Willingdon Seniors is a large, thriving, friendly group of enthusiastic, experienced and knowledgable golfers who are supported by a very well run and organised committee.
Playing in the Seniors section enables members to take part in club competitions, team and individual invitation days and home and away matches allowing them to meet other like-minded golfers and play many varied and superb local golf courses.
These events are open to all Seniors, irrespective of their handicap and to join us the only requirement is for you to be at least 55 years young!
Matches and events take place throughout the year and more details can be found below in our Senior Diary.
I will also be arranging some social events raising funds for my chosen charity for 2020, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, and I hope to see as many of you as possible, members and friends, old and new to support this worthy cause.
I look forward to a fun and rewarding 2020.
